Before getting into the learning content, we’ll first get acquainted.

You’ll learn about Anna & Tom, your course trainers, as well as the history of ear wax removal and, most importantly, the objectives of the course.

We’ll close this module with some thought-provoking concepts to get you motivated for your new career!

The first module in the course will set the foundations for your knowledge.

Together, we’ll explore the anatomy of the ear; after all, this will be your workspace in a career in wax removal. Knowing it inside out is essential.

We’ll also make you aware of the most common conditions you may encounter in your patients’ ears, along with when to address them and when not to.

Finally, you’ll learn about Cerumen. This is earwax, and it’s essential you know all about it.

Through your role, safety is the absolute priority.

We’ll teach you how to be safe, for both you and the patient. That starts with consent and compliance.

We’ll give you access to the documents we use every day to ensure insurance validity and utmost patient care.

We’ll also explain the rules and regulations surrounding wax removal and where you fit in.

As an ear wax removal technician, you’ll have a lot of kit.

This section of the course will teach you how to properly set up, pack down, maintain and operate the various equipment you’ll be in charge of.

From your otoscope to the suction and irrigation machines, as well as manual instruments and head loupes, this module shows how it all works.

Before we begin any procedure, we must become familiar with the patient’s individual circumstances. This includes becoming familiar with their ears. Everyone’s anatomy is different, so understanding the unique factors in your patients’ anatomy is very important.

You’ll learn how to perform otoscopy to examine the ear and how to deliver your findings to your patient.

The first of the two wax removal methods you’ll learn, and the one you should most often use.

Microsuction is widely regarded as the safest and most effective form of wax removal, and you’ll learn how to master it.

We’ll guide you through each step of the procedure and provide a real-time demonstration from start to finish so you can follow along.

The second wax removal technique you’ll learn is the best one to accompany your microsuction skills.

Warm Water Irrigation builds on the concept of the traditional ‘syringing’ method. However, this procedure is machine-led and much more measured.

You’ll know when it is safe and necessary to introduce irrigation into your process.

Like with Module 4, you’ll see a real-time demonstration of this procedure to follow along with.

Will you be running your business from a clinical setting?

We’ll show you around key elements of our own clinic.

You’ll also receive a list of helpful equipment to make your clinic feel premium and aid your day-to-day jobs.

Finally, we’ll show you how to keep yourself and your patients safe in your clinic.

You’ll take an online exam to assess your theory of earwax removal. You will receive a certificate for theory competency ONLY upon successful completion of this component.

Secondly, you’ll book a 1-1 recorded live video call with us to review your practical competency.

You will show us safe processes for each procedure you have learnt.

We will review both submissions together to determine whether you have passed the course. You will be issued a theoretical and practical competency certificate.

Upon successful completion of BOTH examination elements, you will be personally called to congratulate you on your success.

We will send you a personalised certificate by post, and you will be permitted to use our brand name for endorsement purposes.
